I have been in Francis's care for sometime now and always felt I can be open and honest with him. He has seen me through two major surgeries and I could not have asked for better care before, during and after. I've also loved being able to have a laugh with him which is important to me when we are talking about serious matters that impact my life very directly. He has taken the teasing about those waistcoats in his stride! For that I am grateful.

Dr Gardener is the best surgeon there ever was, I’ve never felt so listened to and respected for how I was feeling when getting diagnosed with endometriosis. My whole surgery process was made so much easier by him and his kind manner. Will never stop raving about how amazing he is!

Mr Gardner is, in my opinion, everything you want in a doctor. He listens carefully, he is kind, he is reassuring and, he is not only extremely knowledgeable, but he takes time to explain and answer questions. He's also just a thoroughly nice man and he always makes me laugh. I went to Mr Gardner after six months of not being listened to by my GP and feeling at my wits end and as though I was never going to be without pain. He listened to me, believed me and then explained what was going on and what we could do. It wasn't a quick fix but he told me exactly what to expect in the healing process and has been just as reassuring and kind (and funny) in all follow up visits. Mr Gardner is brilliantly supported by Helen Armitage who is extremely efficient and always so helpful and kind. I can not recommend Mr Gardner enough.

As a specialist in gynaecology and gynaecological oncology, I offer both complex laparoscopic and open surgery for both benign gynaecological conditions such as menstrual problems, endometriosis and fibroids and all gynaecological cancers doing so with the same dedication, attention to detail and professionalism that has come to define all of my work. I am subspecialist trained in gynaecological oncology as well as having advanced skills in both minimal access laparoscopic surgery and hysteroscopic surgery and colposcopy.

After completing training in general obstetrics and gynaecology, I continued my studies to become specialists in gynaecological oncology to become registered as due accredited by the GMC.
I have been awarded prizes for my work at national and international meetings, including The North American Menopause Society Meeting, British Gynaecological Cancer Society Scientific Meeting and The Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists World Congress Meeting.
